Campus@Sea at EWTEC 2025

After the International WaTERS workshop, Lina Laar continued representing Campus@Sea this week at the European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC) in Madeira.

Lina joined sessions directly relevant to our work in Offshore Proof – including:

🔹 Certification & IECRE (by Rick Williams, USA) – advancing the international standards and conformity assessment that Offshore Proof aims to embed across a network of test sites in four countries.

🔹 Socio-Economic Benefits of Marine Energy – essential as the University of Ghent will lead Social Cost-Benefit Analyses for France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany within Offshore Proof.

🔹 The MARINERG-i Workshop – another European network working on certification and research infrastructures, opening opportunities for collaboration with our initiative.

In the photo you’ll spot Lina together with colleague Dernis Mediavilla from EMEC – the world’s first and (so far) only IECRE-accepted test lab. We are proud to learn from their experience as we strengthen the role of Scheveningen’s Maritime Testing Ground in the international landscape.

Lina brought fresh energy and perspective to EWTEC — a great reminder that the future of offshore renewables relies on diverse talent and strong international collaboration.
