Project Offshore Proof

Accelerating renewable energy at sea through trusted offshore testing

Offshore Proof is building a network of real-world offshore test sites to fast-track the certification and global acceptance of wave, tidal, offshore solar, and energy storage innovations.

We focus on trusted, accredited testing — giving developers, regulators, and investors the confidence they need to bring offshore renewable solutions to market faster. Through accredited testing and structured engagement with stakeholders via Communities of Practice, the project ensures that innovations are not only technically sound but also ready for real-world deployment.

A strong European partnership supported by key funding and partners

Led by Campus@Sea (The Netherlands), Offshore Proof brings together partners from Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This international collaboration is working to harmonize testing protocols and apply them in real-world campaigns — strengthening trust in new technologies among investors and regulators alike.

Offshore Proof is financially backed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg North-West Europe programme, with additional co-financing from the Province of West Flanders and the Province of South Holland. The initiative also benefits from the valuable input of Associated Partners and guidance from a dedicated Sounding Board.
